On 21 March 2023, the European Solar Shading Organization (ES-SO) will organice the first worldwide solar protection day, the “Global Shading Day”. On this day, the public and policy-makers worldwide they inform about the benefits of sun shading systems for people, the environment and nature. At the same time, mandatory, legal standards for sun shading in the building industry are demanded in order to slow down the inevitable climate change. ES-SO, the European umbrella organization of the sun shading industry, also backs this up with facts and figures that speak for themselves: A scientific study by the Guide house institute proves that sun shading on buildings could reduce CO2 emissions by up to 100 million tonnes.
